‘Mortal Kombat X’ DLC To Include Playable Predator? Petitions Asking For Other Extras

Mortal Kombat X DLC is already reaching the rumor phase, and the game itself is still two months away. Ever since Reptile was discovered in “the Pit” in the first game of the franchise, secret or extra characters have been among the biggest rumors in the fighting game.

A tease from Ed Boon on Twitter back in July of last year showed a Photoshop image of Scorpion facing off against the Predator against the classic black background, with the caption “Oh snap!!” NetherRealm Studios has yet to confirm the addition.

The makers of Mortal Kombat certainly know how to maintain a level of mystery.

A source used by Video Gamer has alluded to the possibility of the iconic villain as well as the CIA agent it killed in the first Predator film. Allegedly Carl Weathers, the actor who played Colonel Al Dillon, gave permission to use his likeness in the game, further spreading the possibility of the classic film rivals being part of a Mortal Kombat X DLC pack.

This might not be all of the surprises waiting for fans of the upcoming game. A couple of fan-made petitions have made their way into circulation asking for some interesting extra “kombatants.”

The first of these petitions was created to get Oderus Urungus (Dave Brockie) from GWAR into the game. Fans are hoping to get the often hilarious musician as a character to honor his death, and from the costume he wore on stage, he would probably fit right in.

Another character being requested by a fan who goes simply by the name Mark is Tremor. Tremor was originally a character introduced in the ill-received Mortal Kombat: Special Forces, a brown-clad ninja who was also a member of Kano’s Black Dragon clan. Being one of the few characters whose loyalties have lain with two different factions, Tremor could make a comeback like he did in the PlayStation Vita version of the 2011 game.

Nothing is known yet if the Predator or any of the fan requested characters will make it into a Mortal Kombat X DLC pack, but it looks like the classic alien monster which likely inspired Cyrax’s self destruct fatality in MK3 will make an appearance.

What extra characters do you think will be added as DLC?
