In the last 6-weeks model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs has lost her left hand and eye. Scruggs accidentally walked into a plane’s propeller over Christmas and suffered severe injuries. But the model is out of the hospital now and looks happy and healthy.
Scruggs returned to her blog Lolo last week to thank her fans for their support. Lauren wrote:
“I don’t know how to thank each one of you, properly, for so much love during this difficult incident in my life. My heart is so grateful beyond what I could ever imagine.”
Lauren was spotted for the first since her accident yesterday as she left a Dallas Hospital with her family.
Earlier this week the pilot of the plane said that he warned Scruggs about the danger of the propeller. The pilot said in his preliminary report with the National Transportation Safety Administration, the pilot said that he “leaned out of his seat and placed his right hand and arm in front of her to divert her away from the front of the airplane and the propeller. He continued to keep his arm extended and told the passenger that she should walk behind the airplane.”
It’s unclear how Scruggs was sucked into the propeller, but the model says that she doesn’t blame the pilot for the accident. Some aviation experts, however, wonder why the propeller was running while passengers were exiting the plane.
