Bruce Jenner Seen Talking On Cell While Driving Three Days After Fatal Crash

Bruce Jenner was spotted illegally talking on his cell phone Tuesday, just three days after surviving a fatal Malibu crash. Apparently the former reality TV star and Olympic champion was driving in Thousand Oaks in California at the time and was caught on camera chatting on his phone.

Using a cell phone while driving in California can attract a $20 fine for the first offense and $50 for every subsequent offense. Naturally the crime can attract far more than a fine, in the way of distractions and serious road accidents.

According to the New York Daily News, Jenner, who was seen behind the wheel of his compact Ford Fiesta car, apparently had to turn over his cell phone records from the weekend after his involvement in the deadly Malibu crash. Police are trying to establish whether Jenner was talking or texting on his phone at the time of the crash.

Reportedly police have pretty much ruled out Jenner’s story that paparazzi were tailing him at the time and were responsibile for the accident. However, according to Jenner’s publicist, he has denied texting at the time of the crash.

In the meantime, an attorney acting for the driver of the lead car in the crash is disputing the official, preliminary account of the accident. He says his client was hit directly by Jenner’s vehicle.

According to the attorney, Jessica Steindorff, 29, was driving to a meeting in Zuma Beach in her Toyota Prius on the Saturday afternoon that the fatal crash happened on the Pacific Coast Highway.

Steindorff’s attorney, Robert Simon, is saying Jenner’s Cadillac Escalade rear-ended a white Lexus behind his client’s vehicle. After this the Lexus was pushed into the oncoming traffiic and hit head on by another car, after which Jenner’s SUV allegedly hit Steindorff’s car.

The LA Times reports that in total, four vehicles were involved in the accident and the driver of the white Lexus, 69-year-old Kim Howe, was killed after being struck head on by a Hummer H2, the driver of which has not yet been publicly identified. Apparently Howe’s California driver’s license had expired back in 2007.

Reportedly Jenner isn’t alone, as the police department has requested all drivers involved in the crash produce their cell phone records in order to verify they were not using a phone at the time of the accident.

In the meantime, the Inquisitr reports Bruce Jenner has delayed his sex change due to the accident.
