‘The Vampire Diaries’ Preview Teases Jeremy’s Goodbye, A Big Steroline Moment

Are you ready to say goodbye to Jeremy? Well, the promo the CW released for the next Vampire Diaries, Season 6 Episode 14 “Stay,” makes it look like he may not be the only one saying goodbye. However, while he’s leaving for art school, this other potential exit is a sad one as it looks like Sheriff Forbes may be losing her battle with cancer.

As the Inquisitr previously reported, Caroline gave her mother her blood in an attempt to cure her cancer, but there are some things even vampire blood can’t do. Based on the Vampire Diaries Season 6 Episode 14 promo, “Stay” could very well be Sheriff Forbes’ final episode. The episode’s synopsis, which Alloy Entertainment posted, also suggests that.

“It’s Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) last day in Mystic Falls and Elena (Nina Dobrev) puts on a brave face as they reminisce about their past. Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) find themselves growing closer as they prepare Caroline’s family cabin for her mother to live out her final days. While packing up her office, Sheriff Forbes (guest star Marguerite MacIntyre) turns to Damon (Ian Somerhalder) for help solving one of her remaining open cases involving Elena’s parents. Elsewhere, when a violent confrontation with Enzo (Michael Malarkey) leaves Jeremy wondering whether he should leave or not, Matt (Zach Roerig) finds his own life on the line after Enzo lures him and Sarah Salvatore (guest star Tristan Mays) into his dangerous plan. Lastly, Caroline rushes to the hospital after learning her mother has taken a turn for the worse.”

Watch the Vampire Diaries promo below to get a tease of what to expect from Jeremy’s exit, as well as how Stefan and Caroline will be growing closer. Jeremy’s been having a rough time, which is why Elena thinks it’s best that he leaves. She also thinks that he deserves a normal life, and that’s something he’ll never get in Mystic Falls. As for Stefan and Caroline, when the photos for the episode were released, they made it look like a kiss was coming just from the one above. Well, this promo shows a glimpse of Stefan and Caroline kissing, so wonder no more.

As has been known for a while now, Steven R. McQueen is no longer going to be a series regular after this episode, and TVGuide.com has posted a tribute to Jeremy Gilbert, with memorable moments from over the six seasons and another glimpse at his exit in “Stay.”

Executive producer Julie Plec also spoke to TVGuide.com about McQueen’s departure.

“[He’s] all grown-up and ready to move on. We got him a cake and dressed as superheroes and gave him a big party!”

The Vampire Diaries season 6 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on the CW.
