Bobbi Kristina Brown Dead: Doctors Tell Family To ‘Let Her Go,’ But Bobby Brown Reportedly Wants To Wait

Bobbi Kristina Brown is expected to die within hours as a decision to take her off life support is reportedly imminent, but there are now conflicting reports on whether the family is ready to let the 21-year-old go.

Brown was found face-down in a bathtub on Saturday and revived. She was rushed to a hospital where doctors placed her in a medically induced coma in the hopes of reducing brain swelling.

But as the week went on, the situation looked increasingly grim, with sources saying that there was little to no hope for recovery. Rumors that Bobbi Kristina Brown had died circulated throughout the week, but reports intensified on Thursday when family members traveled to an Atlanta hospital to say their final goodbyes.

“It’s sinking in that this is it, but we’re all still praying that God will intervene and heal her body,” a family member told People.

But other sources claimed that her father, Bobby Brown, wanted to wait until the weekend to make a decision on what to do about Bobbi. This is an especially difficult time for Bobby Brown, who has a birthday on Thursday and is also expecting a baby with his wife Alicia Etheridge.

Though unnamed family members have confirmed that Bobbi Kristina Brown was expected to die from her injuries, official statements have not given any additional details.

The family released an official statement on Bobbi Kristina Brown on Tuesday, saying that she was still fighting for survival:

“Bobbi Kristina is fighting for her life and is surrounded by immediate family. As her father already stated, we are asking you to honor our request for privacy during this difficult time. Thank you for your prayers, well wishes, and we greatly appreciate your continued support.”

Now the family is fighting rumors that Bobbi Kristina Brown is brain dead.

“She is not brain dead and the Houstons and the Browns are not fighting,” her family said in a statement.

But doctors have reportedly told the Brown family that it is time to let Bobbi Kristina go. TMZ reported that Bobby Brown is having a difficult time accepting it.

“Family sources tell us the decision is now in Brown’s hands — but we’re told he’s refusing to make the painful choice today, and instead wants to wait until after the weekend.”

“The timing could not have been worse. Today is Bobby Brown’s birthday.”

“We’re told Brown has been hopeful his daughter can beat the odds because someone in his extended family battled out of a coma after 8 days.”

If Bobbi Kristina Brown dies this week, it will be on the three year anniversary of her mother’s death. Whitney Houston died on February 11, 2012 in strangely similar circumstances. She was found dead in a bathtub, the victim of a drug overdose and heart disease.
