Snellville Barber ‘Old Man’ Punishment Goes Viral: Bad Kids Receive Bad Haircuts

A Snellville barber has generated a lot of new business for himself this week. The barber shared his method for punishing unruly kids on social media, and people started talking. According to My Fox Atlanta, Russell Fredrick received nationwide attention for his “Benjamin Button Special.”

What is this special haircut? Fredrick has three days a week set aside to give bad little boys an “old man” haircut. If the boys are misbehaving and causing trouble, their parents can bring them in for this special haircut.

The Snellville barber shared photos of one boy receiving this haircut last week, and since then the barbershop and Russell’s unique method of punishment has received a lot of attention. In fact, the telephone at his barbershop has not stopped ringing. Russell captioned the haircut photo with the following.

“So u wanna act grown…well now u look grown too: The grown-up kids special. Bring more bad kids to @a1__kutz for this kut #badkids #discipline #toughlove #barberlife #kidsbarber #instafunny #regram #repost #instalove #kidscuts #balding #receding #haircut #hair #benjaminbuttonspecial”

Where did Russell get the idea for this special haircut? He received the idea from his own life. Last year, his own son had problems at school. His grades dropped. Russell told his son that he would cut his hair like Brad Pitt’s character in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Fredrick shared the following about what happened with his son after he made that threat, according to KTLA.

“I showed him and I told him, this is your next one if you keep it up. He didn’t want it, so he got his act together.”

Fredrick’s method of punishment has created a spotlight on the Snellville, Georgia, barbershop. Not everyone agrees with this haircut special. According to News Max, Fredrick did speak out about the criticism he has received since the media noticed the social media post.

“I hope that most people won’t have to do this unless it’s an extreme circumstances and nothing else is working. First, you talk or implement your restrictions. But when the conventional ways don’t work these days, you have to get creative.”

Russell’s barber technique is still creating buzz on social media today. People are talking about his punishment on Twitter.

Fifty years ago, a parent would spank their child, but in today’s society that could land the parent in some big trouble. One father realized that, and he called the police to watch him spank his misbehaving daughter, according a previous report from the Inquisitr.
