Ravens to Face Patriots in AFC Championship With Win Over Texans

The AFC Championship game is all locked up. The Baltimore Ravens led by Joe Flacco scored 20 points against an unprepared Houston Texans defense. The Baltimore defense also cranked up the heat on Houston by forcing 4 turnovers, two of which came in the first quarter.

The Texans turned the ball over twice in the first quarter alone, turning two drives into touchdown passes for the ravens and a 17-3 lead going into the second quarter.

At the half the game was 17-13 Baltimore and it looked as if Texas had some momentum headed into the second half, but alas there were only 3 points scored at all in the second half finishing the game 20-13.

Both quarterbacks had pretty bad numbers for a playoff game. Joe Flacco finished just 14-of-27 for only 184 yards. The Texans quarterback, T.J. Yates, was only 17-of-35 for just 175 yards and three interceptions.

Flacco didn’t get much help from his teammates in terms of pass protection or receptions. There were five drops by receivers. He was also sacked five times.

The Ravens better hope to bring a much better game to New England where they are going to face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship and a trip to the Super Bowl. Brady is coming off a record breaking game against Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos.

The Ravens managed to finish the season undefeated at home. They are not going to see their home stadium until next season. The AFC Championship will be held in Foxboro, Massachusetts and the Super Bowl being held in Indianapolis.
