Megyn Kelly: ‘Fox News’ Star’s Ex-Husband Claims He Wanted A Wife, And So Did She

Megyn Kelly’s ex-husband claims he wanted a wife, and so did she. Dr. Dan Kendall’s headline-making statements sound like an erotic tale about the Fox News star is about to follow, the real meaning behind the comments is far more mundane.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly’s ex-husband said the journalist has a Type A personality and needed a Type B personality husband.

“We both needed someone to cook and clean.”

Dr. Dan Kendall also told the Daily Mail that he never cheated on Kelly, adding that it “bugged” him, allegedly hinting about such infidelity on-air.

Megyn Kelly and Dan Kendall were a couple for eight years, and married for nearly five years. The Fox News host is currently married to writer Doug Brunt. Dr. Kendall recalled his wedding to Megyn Kelly as a “very extravagant” affair at a church in Chicago, with a reception that followed at the Waldorf hotel.

“I can say with 100 percent certainty that I was completely faithful to Megyn. When she made that comment about it not being in her current marriage it irritated me a bit because it seemed like she was suggesting it was me. I texted her at the time and she apologized. I think I was a good husband,” Megyn Kelly’s ex-husband said.

Dr. Kendall, 45, reportedly lives in a $2 million home in Vienna, Virginia, a Washington, D.C., suburb. He is reportedly a top anesthesiologist and pain management doctor. When the couple amicably divorced in 2006, Kelly allegedly moved to a home 200 yards away “so they could keep close.” Any attempts at reconciling failed, and both the doctor and the Fox News star are now both reportedly happily remarried and have young children.

“I wanted a wife and she wanted a wife, we both needed someone to cook and clean and support us. She has very much a Type A personality. I couldn’t imagine her staying at home. She needed more of a Type B husband. Sometimes with two professionals it doesn’t work out, we were both working extremely hard and both excelling at what we did. It is just a matter that sometimes two personalities can clash. So we broke up, it was mutual. She wanted to work on things and wanted to keep it going but I realized it wasn’t going anywhere. She moved just down the street and it was very amicable. We still walked the dogs together,” Megyn Kelly’s ex-husband said.

The reference to being cheated on, uttered by Kelly, stems from a 2011 USA Weekend interview.

“‘I feel sorry for his [Anthony Weiner] family. His wife doesn’t deserve this. I have been in the position, not with my current marriage, where I’ve been betrayed. In the beginning, the instinct is very powerful to hang on.”

During the interview where Megayn Kelly’s ex-husband discussed their relationship for the very first time, Dr. Dan Kendall also said, “I met her in Chicago at a street festival. She was out with friends and we became friends. I was a third year medical student and she was an attorney working for Bickel & Brewer as a fourth year lawyer. I really liked her a lot and we were just friends for a while, as she was dating someone else at the time and I was hoping to meet other friends like her, but after a while she broke up with the man she was dating and she showed an interest in me and we started dating.”

Megyn Kelly and Dan Kendall reportedly do not keep in touch, but are on friendly terms. In 2011, the Fox News host invited him to appear on her show as a medical expert, to discuss the care of Dr. Conrad Murray – Michael Jackson’s doctor. Kendall maintains that he still likes Megyn Kelly “as a person” and has a great amount of respect for her.
