WrestleMania season is always a turbulent time in the WWE. Just when WWE fans think a match is set in stone, the men and women who make the decisions turn the tables. After the Royal Rumble, and the disappointment that followed, WWE fans from around the world rioted for Daniel Bryan to be in the WrestleMania 31 main event once again.
“We noted before that Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan was the original plan for this year’s WWE WrestleMania 31 pay-per-view but it was changed to Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler some time in the last few weeks.
“WWE officials are indeed going forward with Bryan vs. Ziggler and we should see that match develop on RAW this week. The change was made because Bryan went to WWE officials and requested a match against Ziggler for WrestleMania 31.
Two legitimately frustrated WWE superstars in a match against each other will certainly steal the show. Bryan and Ziggler are arguably the best workers in the WWE, if not the entire professional wrestling industry. Both men have a chip on their shoulder, which will give the main event a run for its money. The crowd in Santa Clara, California, will have a hard time cheering for Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.
The one question that is on the minds of WWE fans everywhere is who will wrestle as the heel or face? As of right now, Ziggler and Bryan are both babyfaces. It wouldn’t make total sense to turn Bryan heel because he is coming off one of the biggest pops of his career. Ziggler is finally getting to the WWE Universe, which wasn’t a total surprise.
This year’s WrestleMania 31 feels like WrestleMania 3 all over again. Reason being the main event starts with a man who can’t be beaten, Brock Lesnar. He will face off against Roman Reigns, who is WWE’s version of Superman. Reigns is the 2015 version of Hulk Hogan in the classic matchup of Hogan vs. Andre the Giant.
Dolph Ziggler and Daniel Bryan will have a chance to do what Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Randy “Macho Man” Savage did at that same pay-per-view. They stole the show that night in the Silverdome. Even though Andre and Hulk is a more popular match than Savage vs. Steamboat, the hardcore wrestling fans recognize the latter to be the best match on the card, if not in WWE history.
On Monday Night Raw tonight, two major feuds will begin. One will have something to do with Triple H’s huge announcement. The other very well could be the start of Bryan vs. Ziggler. If the WWE continues with the match, get ready for a match that will stand the test of time.
