‘Destiny’: Xur’s Location And Exotic Goods For Weekend Of January 30
Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is back in Destiny’s Tower for the weekend of Friday, January 30. If you didn’t get excited about his Exotic armor and weapon offerings last week, there’s not much more for PlayStation and Xbox players to get excited about this week.
This weekend, Xûr can be found across from the Speaker in the Tower North. Simply head to the left when you first spawn in the Tower, and you’ll find him standing in front of a large, round door across from the speaker’s entrance. Here’s where you can find him on the Tower map just to be sure though.
Xûr and his items will only be available in Destiny through the morning of Sunday, January 25. As soon as the clock strikes 5 a.m. ET / 2 a.m. PT, he will be gone.
There’s nothing new being offered by Xûr this week. In fact, Destiny players who read my article on the vendor last week will recognize that two of the three armor pieces from last week are back. The Dragon’s Breath rocket launcher is also back for the second time since The Dark Below expansion was released. There’s no Heavy Ammo weapon synth, but there is an Exotic Engram for gauntlets.
Here is what is available for sale and upgrade from Xûr this weekend. Thanks again to DestinyDB for the Exotic information below.

For those wondering what to get, here are a few helpful hints.
The Dragon’s Breath rocket launcher provides one of the larger blast radiuses for the class in Destiny. It can hold three rockets in the magazine at a time with the “Tripod” perk, and the “Pyromancer” perk will leave a solar grenade effect in the place of the explosion for a few seconds. The downside to this rocket launcher is that it does not have any tracking capabilities like Gjallarhorn, Truth, or Hunger of Crota, and its velocity is on the slow side.
The Mk. 44 Stand Asides boots are for Titans in the Striker sub-class who love using the Shoulder Charge. The “Be Somewhere Else” perk extends the time that the Shoulder Charge is available by a couple of seconds. It also allows the character to carry more Heavy Weapon ammo. If you’ve ever played a Titan in Crucible, you know that those couple of seconds of extended run time with the Shoulder Charge can be deadly. The 144 strength roll for this week is good, however.
The Don’t Touch Me gauntlets for Hunters can be used with either sub-class, but the Bladedancer playing PvE will see the most benefit due to the “Defensive Reflex” perk. This makes the Hunter invisible for a short period of time after being hit with a melee attack. This can be stacked with the Shadowjack talent to increase the duration of the invisibility. It also comes with the “Inverse Shadow” perk that gives extra super energy from killing enemies and an increase in reload speed for Special Weapons. The 82 discipline stat roll for this week is quite bad though. You may want to wait for these to come back another time.
The Starfire Protocol chest armor for Warlocks is meant for the Sunsinger sub-class thanks to the “Starfire Protocol” perk. It allows for an additional Fusion grenade. However, this does not stack with the “Gift of the Sun” perk, so you can still only max out at two. What it does allow is for you to select either the “Angel of Light” or “Touch of Flame” perks instead. It also allows you to carry extra Fusion Rifle and Heavy Weapon ammo. The 144 intelligent stat roll is decent this week.
