Emile Hirsch Allegedly Assaults Paramount Exec At Sundance Party

Emile Hirsch is currently under investigation after the actor allegedly assaulted a Paramount Pictures executive.

According to Variety, the actor, who was at Sundance to promote his new film Ten Thousand Saints, was partying at a Sundance party at Tao in Park City, Utah, when the assault allegedly happened.

According to a source who spoke with Page Six, “Something happened between the movie exec and Emile, and she said she had been assaulted and asked security to call the police. Emile didn’t leave the scene, and calmly waited for the police to arrive, and spoke with them until around 5 a.m., after which he went home with his friends. No arrests were made.”

A spokesperson for the Park City Police Department discussed the situation with Variety.

“Currently this is an active case that we’re still investigating. We’ll be submitting the case to the Summit County Attorney’s Office for screening as soon as we complete the investigation.”

Another source told Page Six of Hirsch’s nature, “He’s a really nice guy. I can’t imagine he’d be involved in anything like this.”

Both outlets reached out to reps from Paramount and Hirsch’s agent — neither returned phone calls or commented about the matter.

Here are a few portraits that were taken at Sundance.

The last time we heard from Hirsch, he was making the news for accusing Reese Witherspoon of stealing his backpack from his film Into the Wild. Witherspoon, who received some comparisons to Hirsch for her turn in the 2014 film Wild, is said to have an exact replica of the backpack that Hirsch used for his film.

He was overheard at a party complaining, “She uses the same backpack I did. It’s the exact same blue backpack!”

An insider said, “Emile’s p**sed about the props,” when asked about the actor’s comments.

Then again, this kind of sounds like it might have been said in jest. Emile has a dry sense of humor, so we could see this being a huge miscommunication over something that was intended as a joke. As far as the alleged assault, the jury is still out on that one.
