Last week, news emerged that Cristiano Ronaldo and his longtime girlfriend, Irina Shayk, had broken up despite maintaining a long-distance relationship for the past five years. Rumors indicated that a row broke out between the pair regarding a birthday bash for Ronaldo’s mum.
However, according to Page Six , the Russian model was fed up with Cristiano’s infidelity. The tabloid made contact with Shayk’s representative who swiftly denied that the 29-year-old had broken up with Cristiano Ronaldo because she did not attend his mother’s birthday party.
Her representative gave the following response.
She has been close to his family throughout the course of their relationship. Any negative rumors with regards to Irina and the Ronaldo family are completely false and have not been a factor in the cause of the spilt.
However, her representatives remained silent when asked if Irina had called it quits due to persistent rumors of Ronaldo’s infidelity. After the breakup, Cristiano was linked to a Spanish reporter for Real Madrid’s official club channel Lucia Villalon.

However, Ronaldo’s sister has since denied such rumors.
“We want a woman who respects him and likes him, nothing more. That’s the most important thing.”
Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo was left with egg on his face after receiving a straight red card in the 84th minute for kicking out at Cordoba defender Edimar. The red card came at a critical time in the match with Real Madrid locked at 1-1 with Cordoba.
Ronaldo could have been sent off minutes earlier had the referee not miss his punch on defender Ivan Crespo. However, Welsh winger Gareth Bale saved the day as he tucked away a late penalty in Ronaldo’s absence. Cristiano Ronaldo has since apologized for his behavior.
“I apologise to everyone and especially to Edimar for my thoughtless act in today’s game.”
Despite the red, Ronaldo will escape a three match ban due to the referee not noting it as violent conduct in his official post-match report. As a result, Ronaldo will only miss the match at the Bernabeu against Real Sociedad.
