Todd Palin Endorses Newt Gingrich in Republican Primary

Todd Palin, husband to former Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin has made an announcement that he is officially endorsing Newt Gingrich for President.

While Todd Palin told ABC News that this was his official endorsement, his wife Sarah had not officially made up her mind,

“who is best able to go up against Barack Obama,” he said

Todd Palin said that he has the utmost respect for what the former House Speaker has gone through it reminds him of what Sarah Palin went through when she was running for Vice President. By the way he was speaking it was apparent he was talking about his treatment by the press.

He further went on to explain that the experience Gingrich brings to the table from his long political career is what has prepared him for the reality of being President.

Palin said his endorsement is not in anyway a sign of disrespect or lack of admiration for the other candidates. He just feels Gingrich is the best of the group. He pointed to last summer when Gingrich was pretty much deserted by his whole staff and had to take over the reigns himself as a sign of his strength.

Palin stated,

“Gingrich is not one of the typical beltway types and that his campaign has burst out of the political arena and touched many Americans.”

Do you think Todd Palin’s endorsement of Newt Gingrich will make much of a difference to the campaign?
