Patrick Dempsey Divorce: Actor Had No Prenup, May Lose Millions

Actor Patrick Dempsey is currently facing a divorce from his wife of 15 years. Reports confirm that Jillian Fink filed for divorce from the Grey’s Anatomy actor on Friday.

According to TMZ, the couple issued an official statement after the initial report of their divorce was first released.

“It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage. Our primary concern remains the well-being of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family’s privacy at this very sensitive time.”

Fink cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for wanting to bring her marriage to Patrick Dempsey to an end shortly before the couple would have celebrated their 16th anniversary.

Since Patrick and Jillian apparently did not have a prenuptial agreement, Hollywood Life reports that Patrick Dempsey could now be at risk of losing millions of dollars. Jillian does want Patrick to pay spousal support, and also wants to deny her now-estranged husband support from her.

Radar Online reports that Jillian allegedly wants to keep her jewelry as well as her earnings from and after their official separation date. When it comes to distributing additional property assets, the future ex-wife of Patrick Dempsey reportedly stated all of that will be determined during the divorce proceedings.

Fink has requested child support in her filing as well, even though the custody of the couple’s three kids together has not been figured out yet.

Radar claims that Jillian also wants Patrick to take care of her legal expenses. Celebrity Net Worth reports that Patrick Dempsey is currently worth $40 million. The 49-year-old actor currently earns $350,000 for each episode of Grey’s Anatomy, in addition to the money that he brings in for his numerous movie roles.

Without a prenuptial agreement, California law states that Jillian Fink could easily walk away with half of everything that was earned during the couple’s 15 years of marriage.

That includes the earnings that Patrick has received from the long-running hit TV series, which premiered nearly six years after Patrick and Jillian got married.

Patrick Dempsey and Jillian Fink married each other in 1999. The couple have three children — 12-year-old Talula Fyfe, and 7-year-old twins, Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen.

This is not the first time that Patrick Dempsey has been married and divorced. He was also married to his former manager, Rocky Parker, from 1987 to 1994. Dempsey made headlines with that marriage since Parker was 26-years-older than him.
