Sean Penn Files Adoption Papers For Charlize Theron’s Son Jackson

Sean Penn is ready to start the next phase in his relationship with fiancee Charlize Theron. According to Us Weekly, Penn has started the process to adopt her 3-year-old son, Jackson.

Sources tell Us Weekly that Charlize is thrilled with Sean’s dedication to her family.

“Sean always knew that to truly earn a place in Charlize’s heart, connecting with Jackson was one of the most important parts.”

As the Inquisitr reported, this is a process that Penn was thinking about for some time. At the time, sources told Radar that Theron didn’t put any pressure on Sean.

“It has been a very natural process of them becoming a true family. Jackson calls Sean, ‘Daddy,’ and Sean just lights up around him. Sean picks Jackson up from nursery school, and all of the parents know him.”

The pair have been moving quickly since they got together. Penn and Theron have only been dating for a little over a year. Then the two were engaged in November while on a holiday in Paris. That said, the couple haven’t confirmed or denied their engagement, and would much rather put the focus on their work with Haiti than anything else.

Not only is Penn adopting Charlize’s son, Jackson, this has also reportedly opened up discussion for the couple to talk about more kids down the line.

“There is still talk of adopting again and giving Jackson a brother or a sister.”

Penn has two children from his previous marriage to Robin Wright. Daughter Dylan Penn, 23, who is a model, and son Hopper Pen, 21.

Previous to her engagement to Sean Penn, Charlize Theron was in a relationship with Irish actor Stuart Townsend which lasted from 2001 until their separation in 2010. The pair were never married.

In an interview with Vogue, Theron opened up about her effortless relationship with Penn. Months before the pair got engaged, she talked about how she wouldn’t get married.

“Let’s put it this way: I never had the dream of the white dress, and watching other people getting married? I think it’s beautiful for them, but to be quite honest, usually I’m sitting there just devastated. It’s supposed to be this night of celebrating love, and all you see is a couple separated all night making sure everybody else is okay. It just looks like a lot of work.”

Looks like something changed for Theron.
