[Photo] Giant Rat Found in Foot Locker Bigger Than a Dog

A Giant rat was found in a Bronx Foot Locker a few months ago, but the photos of this beast have gone viral and are popping up all over the Net.

The Huffington Post has said the origins of the pictures are unknown, but they consulted Dr. Robert S. Voss, the Curator of Mammals at The American Museum of Natural History in New York and he said “There’s no way it’s a common sewer rat. I’m 90 percent certain that it’s a a Gambian pouched rat.”

The rat was most likely brought to the US at some point as a pet. However, since the early 2000’s the import of African Rodents has been banned since an outbreak of monkey pox.

Voss further said that the rat may look like it could bite your head off, but in the end they are very playful and docile.

Foot Locker had no comment on the issue.
