Michelle Obama earned major style points for her State of the Union dress, one that fans of The Good Wife may find very familiar.
The First Lady wore a gray Michael Kors pantsuit with a zippered jacked that had a large folded collar, one that earned her some big praise from fashion critics. But one sharp-eyed viewer noticed that Michelle’s dress was identical to one worn by Julianna Marguiles’ character Alicia Florrick, who plays the wife of the governor of Illinois on the popular political drama.
This isn’t the first time that Michelle Obama has stepped out in a Michael Kors ensemble, the Huffington Post noted.
“And we’ve seen the first lady in Michael Kors several times before, including the first-ever White House Turnaround Arts Talent Show, the night President Obama was reelected and in her official White House portrait in 2013, just to name a few.”
“If you’ve been keeping track, Mrs. Obama’s past SOTU style moments have also been stellar. She has dazzled us in sparkles and gone bold in blue and of course we didn’t know if FLOTUS could top the gorgeous forest green Azzedine Alaia dress from last year’s SOTU — but she definitely did.”
While the State of the Union address itself drew national attention, including tax proposals to help the middle class and a call for military action against ISIS.
“This effort will take time,” the president says of helping people stand up to ISIS.
“It will require focus. But we will succeed. And tonight, I call on this Congress to show the world that we are united in this mission by passing a resolution to authorize the use of force against ISIL.”
But much of the attention was also focused on Michelle Obama and her Good Wife-inspired dress.
