Gia Giudice ‘Steps Into Mother Role’ As Teresa Giudice Serves Prison Sentence

Gia Giudice has been instrumental in keeping her sisters cool and calm while their mom is in prison. According to Radar Online, Gia has “stepped into the mother role,” helping out her dad, Joe, and really helping her three younger sisters cope with not having their mom at home. The 14-year-old might not be a replacement for Teresa, but she certainly is a female role model for Milania, 9, Gabriella, 8, and Audriana, 3.

“Gia is stepping into the mother role. It comes naturally since even when Teresa was around Gia was frequently responsible for disciplining her siblings,” shared a source.

Gia Giudice recently celebrated her 14th birthday without her mom, as Teresa reported to prison on Jan. 5, and Gia’s birthday is on Jan. 9. According to Hollywood Life, it was a tough day for Gia, but she put on a happy face, and got on with her day. Her strength has been a blessing for Joe, as he too is having a very hard time raising four girls as a single parent.

“Gia is incredibly sad about not spending time with her mom on her birthday, but, like Teresa, she is very strong. She is going to put on the best face and enjoy her celebration — and she knows that her mom loves her no matter where she is.”

Gia may still need her mom right now, but she is very mature and she’s going to do her best to be there for her sisters while Teresa is away. The Giudice girls are lucky in many ways to have each other to lean on. The next 12 months of their lives are not going to be easy, but they are going through this as a family, and being together every day will help the anxiety. The girls will undoubtedly miss their mom — some days more than others — but they will get through this.

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Gia and her sisters accompanied Joe on their very first visit to Danbury this weekend. The girls were slated to visit their mom last week, but Teresa wanted them to keep their schedule as normal as possible, and the girls had quite a few events to attend. It’s unknown how often they will get to see their mom, but Teresa previously mentioned that she’d like Joe to bring them once a week. It’s unknown how often Teresa gets to call home, but every little bit of contact helps everyone cope.
