Jeremy Renner Bar Brawl – Friend Attacked With Homemade Ax

PHUKET, Thailand – Actor and rising star Jeremy Renner escaped a gentlemanly disagreement (read: bar brawl) at a pub last night with nary a scratch. The bad news? One of his party pals is in serious condition after the melee.

Reportedly, the actor was traveling with a posse of six: a man, two women, a driver, and the general manager of the Sri Panwa Resort, Vorasit Issara. He found himself in the middle of said spat around 4:30 A.M. after Issara dropped a glass on the floor. That’s when six of Phuket’s Rachada Pub’s employees rushed the party.

Now that’s a staff that takes their glassware seriously. How seriously? Seriously enough that said employees were already armed with clubs, knives, and (I’m not making this up) one homemade ax Macguyvered from a motorcycle brake rotor.

Issara himself was the most critically injured in the fight: he was stabbed in the stomach by 26-year-old Suchart Balae, and took the motorcycle-brake-rotor-ax-thing to the neck, courtesy of 18-year-old Nareubate Tednok.

Issara is in the hospital with some pretty serious wounds, as you can imagine. All six attackers have confessed and have been charged with attempted murder.

Renner (pictured above in his Academy Award nominated performance in Katherine Bigelow’s The Hurt Locker) is in the area shooting the next Bourne flick, The Bourne Legacy playing the lead role of Aaron Cross, a character tasked with picking up the pieces in the wake of Bourne’s actions in the previous films (hence Legacy). The talented actor can be currently seen in Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol as a new member to Ethan Hunt’s IMF team, and will be portraying Clint Barton (Hawkeye) in the highly anticipated summer juggernaut The Avengers (trailer here, a la Inquisitr).

So with details this fuzzy, how do you think the fight went down? Or are you just relieved that Jeremy Renner is safe?
