A passenger on the Disney Magic captured dramatic video footage as a lifeboat was sent to rescue a Royal Caribbean passenger who fell overboard. The passenger began filming after a man overboard announcement was made and the lifeboat had been placed in the water.
The Inquisitr previously reported that a passenger sailing on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas fell overboard, and it went completely unnoticed by anyone on the ship. The Disney Magic, of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, was sailing the exact same route, and was able to rescue the man after he was noticed by someone aboard that ship.
According to witnesses onboard the Disney Magic, the man, Frank Jade, was heard screaming for help as the ship passed nearby. The passengers reported a man overboard and a rescue mission was put into place. A lifeboat was deployed into the choppy seas. As you can see in the video, the boat makes its way through the waves and as it nears the man, he can be seen frantically swimming towards the boat.
It is unclear how the man managed to stay afloat for so long in such choppy waters without a life vest. Fortunately, Jade came out of the whole ordeal without any serious injuries. Royal Caribbean notes that Jade was taken to a medical clinic in Punta Langsota, Mexico, before being flown to the United States. When asked about the incident, Jade claims he does not remember how he fell overboard, contrary to early reports that a “large wave” knocked him off the deck.
