A man captured on video from his garden in the town of Tynemouth in North Tyneside, England, on the night of Monday, Jan. 12, a pulsating dome or diamond-shaped UFO hovering in the night sky.
Craig Lowther told the local media outlet Chronicle Live, he was taking his dog out at about 11:30 p.m. when he saw a pulsating dome-shaped object in the night sky.
The 43-year-old venture capitalist was able to capture the UFO on video.
Lowther told Chronicle Live he first thought he was observing a plane flying in an unusual pattern. But after taking a closer look he noticed the hovering object pulsated with unusual colors – white and purple – and that it was not flying like a normal aircraft.
“I always look up at the night sky when I go out because where I live you get a great view of the stars. But when I looked up I noticed what I thought was a plane travelling on an unusual flight path. It was an unusual color for a plane and it was not moving as you would expect a plane to move.”
He rushed back into his house to fetch his camera but found that it was low on battery. So he had to spend some minutes recharging it before rushing outside again.
Fortunately, the mystery object was still hovering above in the dark sky when he returned, and he was able to film the UFO in the night sky for about two minutes.
“I used the zoom so I could get a better look, and what I saw surprised me. It appeared to be a dome with a bulge in the middle and it had pulsating lights on it. I am out at night a lot walking the dog but this was like nothing I have ever seen before.”
The video shows the UFO flashing with a variety of colors as it flies in an erratic path in the sky. A close-up of the object shows it has a dome on top that glows white and purple.
However, Open Mind’s Jason McClellan notes that the appearance of pulsing is not unusual when a camera tries to focus on a glowing object set against the night sky. He explains that although the UFO appears dome-shaped this could be an illusion generated by the blades of the camera’s iris.
He notes further the difficulty of confirming the actual color and shape of the hovering object due to the fact that the video was taken in the night. But Lowther does not say that the appearance on camera was significantly different from what he saw with his own eyes. Thus, it is likely that the UFO, as seen on camera, was similar to what the witness saw with his naked eyes.
For instance, the witness had reported seeing “unusual (pulsing) colors” before he fetched his camera.
Lowther said he is a regular stargazer. So we could assume he is familiar with the usual sights in the night sky in his area. He said what he saw was unusual.
If the witnesses’ testimony is truthful then this is an interesting sighting that merits the attention of UFO enthusiasts at a time of proliferation of questionable claims of sightings. Yet the explanation could be simpler than it appears.
The Daily Mail notes, for instance, that this is not the first time that a UFO has been captured on video in Tynemouth recently. Only last month, a YouTube user posted online a similar UFO with flashing white lights hovering in the sky.
The similarity between both sightings could lead skeptics to believe that there is a prankster in the area having fun, or probably someone conducting experiments with a flying device, a kite or toy.
