Adam Levine And Maroon 5 Join Taylor Swift As Priciest Artists To See Live In 2015
Looking forward to seeing Adam Levine and Maroon 5 in concert in the New Year? You better be ready to shell out some big bucks to do so.
According to Pop Dust, Maroon 5 joins Taylor Swift as the second and third most expensive tickets on the secondary market in 2015.
“Pop juggernauts Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift will see the second and third most expensive tour averages in 2015, respectively. At $279.42, Maroon 5 tickets on the band’s V Tour are 6.3% more expensive than Taylor Swift tickets on the 1989 Tour, which average at $262.85.”
Other hard to catch pop acts aside from Maroon 5 include controversial Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, whose secondary market value, along with singer Ariana Grande, skyrocketed after both artists catapulted to the top of the charts last year.
Maroon 5’s U.S. Tour kicks off in February in support of their latest record V, which has yielded several hits for the Adam Levine fronted rock group. “Animals” by far has been their most controversial, with many women’s groups protesting the music video featuring Adam’s wife Behati Prinsloo. In it, Levine plays an apparent stalker who preys on Behati’s character. The outrage came as the video can be seen as glorifying stalking as part of courtship, which in the real world, could lead to rape.
However, Maroon 5 also landed some unlikely support for “Animals” as well. As reported by Inquistr, PETA, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, actually defended the video which portrayed the horrors of the meat packing world. Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo can be found covered in a bloody mess in the video’s climactic end.
Speaking of Adam and Behati, the couple rang in the New Years together following a Maroon 5 performance in Las Vegas. The gorgeous couple also shared their New Year’s resolutions on Instagram, according to Elle Magazine. Instead of the usual resolutions that may involve losing weight or be more thankful in life, Levine and his wife instead vowed to do more “Meerkating,” according to the caption beneath their quick video.
As defined by the Urban Dictionary, “meerkating” is the art of “posing like a Meerkat in a public place, and then taking a picture of it. Meerkating has the same concept as planking, but you are squating [sic] and posing like a meerkat with your hands out in front of you like paws.”
