Emily Maynard Is Pregnant: ‘Bachelorette’ Star Expecting Second Child Six Months Post-Wedding [Updated]

Emily Maynard is pregnant! The former Bachelorette is expecting her second child just six months after tying the knot. According to Us Weekly, Maynard (who is already mom to 9-year-old Ricki) and her beau, Tyler Johnson, are absolutely thrilled. Emily has wanted to have another child for quite some time, but had trouble finding her Prince Charming. After meeting and falling in love with Johnson, it is understandable why the blonde beauty didn’t want to wait to get pregnant!

“We’re super excited!” Emily said of her baby news. This will be the first child for Johnson, who has been an exceptional step-dad to Ricki over the past couple of years.

Emily Maynard rose to fame (get it? Rose) on Brad Womack’s season of The Bachelor. Just about everyone seemed to fall in love with the Carolina sweetheart, who ended up winning the heart of Womack – and taking home the final rose. Things soon fell apart, however, as Womack just wasn’t ready to make a commitment (it was actually his second time on the show as he couldn’t commit the first time either).

In 2012, Emily then took the helm as The Bachelorette, and found love with Jef Holm. After a few short months of a fairytale engagement, however, the two split for good. The following year, Emily met her one and only – and she announced her engagement soon after that.

“He proposed to me at home and gave both Ricki and me rings,” Emily said at the time. According to Hollywood Life, Emily and Tyler got married in June 2014. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, the reality star shared some of her gorgeous wedding photos with fans back in September. After tying the knot, Emily took some much needed time to just reflect, and to enjoy her life. Now, she and Tyler are ready for this next chapter of their lives.

“I just really wanted to take the time to enjoy being married, my new family, our new home, and really just LIFE that I kind of checked out on life for a little while.”

And so, Emily Maynard is finally getting her happy ending… or maybe this is her new beginning. One can only imagine how excited Ricki must be to be getting a sibling. She is going to be a great help when the baby arrives, sometime in the summer or fall. Emily has not revealed her due date or any more details about her pregnancy.
