Master P Helping End Rift Between No Limit Records And Cash Money Records By Collaborating With Lil Wayne

Master P and Lil Wayne feuded for years, but now the fellow New Orleans natives are burying the hatchet and appear to be collaborating on what could be a historic track.

The rappers are reportedly getting together for a new track titled, “Power,” one that will be featured on Ice Cream Man’s upcoming mixtape, We All We Got.

Master P and Lil Wayne had been locked in a dispute stretching back years, with their labels No Limit Records and Cash Money Records battling over who coined the phase “bout it” first.

Cash Money Records has seen plenty of drama of its own lately. Late last year, there were rumors that the label was nearing bankruptcy, and that soon-to-be-big names like Drake and Nicki Minaj would be released to become free agents.

Though that never materialized, a few weeks ago there was another very public spat within the organization. Lil Wayne went on a rant on Twitter in early December, saying slamming CEO Bryan Williams, better known as Birdman.

“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it. This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation. I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy. I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don’t blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u. Pray.”

The spat dates back to 2012, when Lil Wayne announced that his 11th studio album, The Carter V, would come out some time in 2013. But the album was pushed back, and now is slated for release some time in 2015, with no hard date set.

This is the first time that Master P and Lil Wayne have appeared on a record together.
