‘MDLNY’ Star Fredrik Eklund: ‘Buy A Home For A Child That Needs Our Help’

Million Dollar Listing: New York star Fredrik Eklund may be selling for millions of dollars worth of real-estate in New York City and fans are celebrating his deals with him, but his life isn’t just about making money. In fact, Eklund has been focusing on helping those who are less fortunate, especially children in need. It is no secret that Fredrik himself wants a child one day, but until he gets his own, Fredrik wants to give back and help those in need.

This week on Instagram, Fredrik Eklund announced that he is working on a new campaign to help homeless children for the holidays. He is gathering his team together to help children who need a place to be. Fredrik is encouraging people to give $60 to help people in need. For $60, you are buying a home for a child in need. It sounds like Eklund has already made his donations.

According to a new Bravo report, Million Dollar Listing: New York broker Fredrik Eklund announced this new venture earlier this week. Eklund has been working on this campaign with his Douglas Elliman team. The group had more commissions in 2014 than any other team in the company’s entire 103-year history. But at the end of the day, Eklund wants to help those in need.

“I’ve sold a lot of real estate in my life, but perhaps the most important residence for sale is Korolenka Street in Ukraine…. In this new campaign, all my offices and our clients help the over 100 million homeless and abandoned children living on the streets. Working with @sosbarnbyar to try to change the world a small step at a time. For only $60 you can buy a home for a child. A child that needs our help, especially in cold Holiday times,” Fredrik Eklund announced on his Instagram account.

Eklund isn’t scared of showing off his wealth. He recently posed for a picture of a Lamborghini. But at the end of the day, it sounds like he just wants a happy family with his husband, Derek Kaplan. According to the Inquisitr, Fredrik has announced that they are working towards having a baby girl. He has always said he wanted a girl named Milla.

“He is just amazing giving me business guidance in all of this and the charities we support, so down to earth and grounded when it comes to the larger, difficult decisions, you know the ones that really make us propel to the next level (always challenging in the moment but define us long term),” Fredrik has said of his husband, adding, “But most of all thanks to New York, you crazy queen of all cities for making me continue realizing all my dreams with you.”
