Christine O’Donnell Endorses Mitt Romney, Likes His Flip-Flop Politics [Video]

Remember Christine O’Donnell? That woman who is certainly not a witch... Well, she just endorsed Mitt Romney for president.

But will an O’Donnell endorsement hurt or help Romney’s chances at winning the Republican nomination? It turns out that both Democrats and Romney are happy with O’Donnell’s decision.

The LA Times reports that the Democratic National Committee actually advertised the announcement by sending the press release out to reporters with the comment, “In case you missed it.” But Romney doesn’t seem to be ashamed of having O’Donnell’s support.

Romney said:

“Christine has been a leader in the conservative movement for many years. Christine recognizes that excessive government threatens us now and threatens future generations, and I am pleased to have her on my team.”

Democrats, of course, are praising the endorsement for the same reason. O’Donnell’s endorsement moves Romney a little further to the right and attaches his name to a walking political punchline.

Here’s an actual political ad from Christine O’Donnell.

O’Donnell chose to endorse Romney, saying:

“For me, this endorsement comes down to trust. I am endorsing Governor Romney because I trust him to do the right thing. He has the strength of conviction to do the right thing regardless of opposition.”

Last week O’Donnell also said that she was a fan of Romney’s flip-flopping abilities. Talking on CNN, O’Donnell said that she liked how Romney flip-flops because “he’s been consistent since he changed his mind.”

Romney was also endorsed by Dan Quayle last week.

Do you think Christine O’Donnell’s endorsement will help or hurt Mitt Romney?
