2011 VGAs: BioWare’s new project is C&C: Generals 2 [Video]

Remember that ‘new’ project of BioWare’s that was teased ahead of the VGAs? As it turns out, that project isn’t an all-new IP, but rather Command Conquer: Generals 2.

The trailer accompanying the announcement doesn’t give us all that much to go by, unfortunately. All we know is that this is Command Conquer: Generals 2, BioWare is making it, it’s powered by Frostbite 2.0, it’s due out in 2013 and the trailer features a healthy dose of explosions.

It goes without saying that C&C: Generals 2 is a significant departure from what we’ve been seeing from BioWare since as far back as I can remember. It’s pretty safe to say that this will be an RTS, so it will be interesting to see what BioWare can do in the RTS genre.

We’ll undoubtedly be seeing more and more of C&C: Generals 2 as we venture into 2012, but for now you can get a little taste of BioWare’s work by watching the Command Conquer: Generals 2 announcement trailer straight from the 2011 Spike VGAs directly below.
