Boy Girl Steal Baby Toronto: ‘Alarming’ Attack Gets Two Kids Charged After They Attempt To Steal 21-Month-Old

A boy and a girl attempted to steal a baby in Toronto in what police are calling a “random” and “alarming” attack. According to Yahoo! News, a 14-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl have been charged after they attacked a mom, punched and kicked her, demanded her personal items (including her wallet and cell phone), and then asked her to hand over her 21-month-old child.

“This is a very alarming situation… (and) a major cause for concern,” said Inspector Art Little of the Toronto Police Service.

The incident happened in an otherwise quiet, residential neighborhood. The woman had been walking to her parents’ home from a nearby subway station when she was attacked from behind.

The boy and girl didn’t steal the baby on that Toronto street on Thursday night, but they certainly tried. It’s unclear why they wanted the baby, or what their motives may have been, but they were fairly relentless, putting both the mom and her child in great danger of being separated from one another.

“They continued to kick and punch her without any regard for the safety of the infant in her arms. At one point they even managed to take the infant from her grasp. She fought back and was able to get her baby back,” said Mr. Little.

According to the National Post, the boy made direct threats to the child by telling its mother that if she screamed, he would hurt her baby. At one point, the girl threatened to kick the baby in the head.

The two kids were due in court on December 5 to face some extremely serious charges. Do you think that they should be tried as adults?

“The 12-year-old girl faces charges of abduction of a person under 14, assault, two counts of robbery, and uttering threats. The 14-year-old boy faces charges of abduction of a person under 14, assault, two counts of robbery, two counts of uttering threats, two counts of breach of recognizance and two counts of failing to comply with this undertaking.”

The boy and girl charged after trying to steal the baby in Toronto may have had a bigger plan — like kidnapping for ransom. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a woman in Texas stole another woman’s baby just last month. The suspect stabbed the mother of the child to death before taking her child, but was soon found by police. She was given a life sentence.
