Fans of the Australian rock band 5 Seconds of Summer will be thrilled to learn that some of the members recently admitted that they would have no problem dating a fan.
In a recent interview with Seventeen magazine, the guys of 5 Seconds of Summer talked about their experiences dating girls in the past, their ideal girlfriends, and the possibility of hooking up with a girl who loves 5 Seconds of Summer.
“Fans are the same thing as a normal person, but they just like your band,” said 5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford. “It’s like a bonus.”
But how close have the guys of 5 Seconds of Summer actually gotten to finding love? According to the guys, only one 5 Seconds of Summer member has actually known love. Nobody has been in a serious relationship except Ashton Irwin.
“I can’t really explain what it’s like to be in love, but I feel like it’s being comfortable,” said 5 Seconds of Summer’s drummer. “It’s almost like having a best friend. It’s a beautiful thing.”
So what are the members of 5 Seconds of Summer looking for in a girl? According to Unreality TV , 5 Seconds of Summer’s guitarist Luke Hemmings shared his ideal girlfriend, claiming he wants “a girl with a good sense of humor who doesn’t take herself seriously. Australians are naturally sarcastic. Witty jokes work well on me.”
Michael Clifford is looking for love too, but hasn’t had much luck so far. The 5 Seconds of Summer star shared a cringe-worthy story of his attempt to woo a girl with flowers.
“Once I sent a girl flowers for her birthday,” said Clifford. “I wrote a cute note to go with them and included chocolates and teddy bears. When I asked if she liked them, she said, ‘I have a boyfriend.’ That was tough.”
A similar embarrassing story from the guys of 5 Seconds of Summer came out last week, when some of the guys revealed that some of their fans hired male strippers to dance at their house.
Despite the fact that he’s never had a girlfriend, 5 Seconds of Summer’s bassist Calum Hood hasn’t had any trouble finding girls to flirt with. The biggest news story about 5 Seconds of Summer to come out this year was Calum’s nude photo scandal , wherein he exposed himself to a fan who then posted the images online. Hood was good-natured about the photo leak, and his 5 Seconds of Summer mates seemed to forgive him for the scandal.
In other 5 Seconds of Summer news, the band had to cancel a TV appearance because Ashton Irwin fell ill yet again . According to the Daily Mail , 5 Seconds of Summer announced on Twitter that they would have to skip a live Channel V special because Irwin “isn’t feeling too well.”
Maybe Ashton has got another case of love sickness.
