Jeremy Calvert Reportedly Files For Divorce From Leah Messer

It has been nearly a month since Jeremy Calvert accused his wife, Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer-Calvert, of cheating on him. Over that month, rumors have spread about the couple’s relationship and whether or not they would make things work. Despite reports that neither party had yet formally filed, In Touch reported on November 25 that Jeremy had officially filed for divorce.

The couple has been married for two years and, even though things seemed fine between the two, the most recent season of Teen Mom 2 showed that the couple did have their issues. However, when Jeremy took to Twitter to accuse Leah of cheating on him, fans didn’t know what to think. The accusation seemingly came out of nowhere and the fact that he had accused her of cheating on him with the same person she cheated on her first husband with made things even worse.

Leah has adamantly denied the cheating claims, but has understandably decided not to sign up for a sixth season of Teen Mom 2. As the Inquisitr previously reported, Leah has not revealed even to her co-stars why she has decided not to go on with the show, but MTV plans on filming with or without her.

It is unclear when Jeremy Calvert reportedly filed for divorce, but it may have been on Monday morning. It was around 9:30 a.m. that he took to Twitter to simply tweet “done.” A source who spoke to In Touch recounted Jeremy’s alleged reasoning for deciding to call it quits with the marriage.

“They’ve been having problems for a while now, and Leah cheating in October was the final straw. She always thought she’d be able to win him back. The fact that she can’t has made her a total mess. She’s hit rock bottom.”

There is no doubt that Leah Messer has been quiet since the accusations came out in the media. The Teen Mom 2 star had to watch as the troubles from her first marriage played out in the media and on the reality television show. Having to watch the issues from her second marriage also play out in the public eye can’t be easy, but she seems to be handling things the best that she can. She has recently started tweeting more positive things, suggesting that she is in better spirits.

Starcasm has been keeping up with potential divorce and reached out to two counties in which Jeremy Calvert could potentially file for divorce. Officials from Kanawha County told the site that no divorce paperwork had been filed, which is the same thing they had been told the last time they checked. However, officials in Roane County told the site that they were “unable to disclose information.” The last time the site checked with them, though, they had said no paperwork had been filed.

With Leah, Jeremy has one daughter, Adalynn. Leah’s first husband, Corey Simms, is currently fighting her for full custody of the twins that they share, but it is unclear how custody could potentially play out between Leah and Jeremy. Jeremy often works out of town so a standard custody agreement may not be plausible, as he is often gone for weeks at a time. No matter how things play out, though, Leah has always been good about ensuring her children spend adequate time with their fathers.

Other than his Monday tweet, Jeremy Calvert has not addressed the reported divorce. Leah has yet to speak out about the new reports either.
