Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar don’t usually address rumors about their family directly, but the 19 Kids and Counting stars recently surprised fans by responding to tabloid reports about John-David’s love life.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, John-David Duggar recently sparked courting rumors simply by standing beside a “mystery woman.” John-David can be seen sharing the same space as the girl in multiple photos circulating online. OK! Magazine also pointed out that an Instagram user, who goes by the name “Masiespace,” is close friends with the Duggar family, and she can often be seen standing beside John-David in photos of Michelle Duggar and her brood. Some fans think that Masiespace might be involved with John-David.
However, according to E! News, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar recently denied that John-David is in a courtship. The couple posted a message on their family’s Facebook page letting all available virgins know that John-David hasn’t found a quiver for his arrows.
“Sometimes we see the gossip stories circulating. One this week we found interesting but not true at all! News Flash: John is not courting and not in a relationship….and he has never been in one! Just thought we’d set that straight. He’s still waiting for the right one at the right time. #InGodshands”
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar likely decided to address the relationship rumors head-on because they’re still trying to help their son find a mate. The Quiverfull club doesn’t have a long list of members, so it’s important that every young lady who lives her life like the Duggars is aware that 24-year-old John-David is single.
During an interview with People magazine, John-David revealed that he is actively looking for love. At Jill Duggar’s wedding rehearsal, he even made a joke about taking applications for a future spouse. The quip caught the attention of numerous interested women, but John-David hasn’t started sifting through their courtship applications yet.
“I hear that we started receiving applications like crazy. I don’t know how many have come in and I haven’t looked at any, but I hear there are a lot. Everybody is giving me advice about getting married. It isn’t a bad thing. I’m open to advice.”
Michelle Duggar hasn’t just been using social media to update fans on her son’s lack of a love life — she’s also using Facebook to try to save her family’s TLC reality series. Because of the Duggars’ homophobic views, thousands of gay rights supporters have signed a petition asking TLC to take the show off the air. It currently has 350,391 signatures.
Michelle recently shared a counter-petition claiming that 19 Kids and Counting “is under attack from anti-marriage advocates for standing for traditional marriage.” She asked fans to sign it to “let TLC know that you support the Duggars’ stand for traditional marriage.” The petition currently has just 40,297 signatures.
Perhaps Michelle Duggar’s second-oldest son is having a hard time finding love because his family has become so controversial. What do you think?
