Ryan Gosling Granted Restraining Order Against Stalker

Ryan Gosling was just granted a restraining order against a woman who thinks he is her soul mate. If this sounds like an internet meme or the beginning of a listicle about all the ways Gosling is dreamy, we don’t blame you for thinking that.

Regardless of Ryan Gosling’s relationship with Eva Mendes, the actor is still one of the most sought after men of his generation. With those baby blues and his general affable attitude, Gosling has been on everyone’s list for years. So we’re surprised to learn that this is the first time he’s had to take out a restraining order against a crazed fan. One Tumblr search shows that he has plenty of them already.

According to TMZ, Grace Marie Del Villar believes that she is Ryan’s “twin flame” and has sent the actor emails and packages. One of the packages included a magazine cover of girlfriend Eva Mendes. Mendes was ripped out, and in place of his girlfriend was her contact information.

Additionally, Del Villar was able to get a hold of Gosling’s sister, Mandi’s, contact information. The Drive actor’s stalker would stuff Ryan’s sister’s inbox with disturbing messages. One of those messages said, “I am kicking your brother’s head.”

The restraining order states that the stalker is to stay 100 yards away from Gosling, Eva Mendes, and their daughter, Esmeralda. Ryan’s sister Mandi also obtained an order of protection against the stalker.

The last time Del Villar contacted Gosling, she flew from New York City to Los Angeles, just so she could ring his doorbell. When she reached the security gate, she said she was “Ryan’s twin” and left a doll catalog at the gate.

A stalker is a jarring thing to anyone, but especially for someone like Ryan who has done his best to stay out of the limelight despite his sex symbol status.

Back in 2013 he told ABC News about getting used to fame. “You just have to get used to guys hiding in the bushes. That’s the adjustment of being followed and all that stuff. They just kind of keep on keeping on.”

He continued, “It’s like my friend’s grandmother, when she cooks a lobster she soaks it in vodka first, gets it a little drunk and then she puts in the water and she slowly turns up the heat so we never kind of knew what was coming. I think in that analogy I’m both the lobster and the old lady.”
