Duchess Kate hosted a charity event at Kensington Palace on Wednesday, and all eyes were — once again — on her growing mid-section. According to Mail Online, Kate Middleton wore a black top with a sheer upper bodice and sleeves by Hobbs, and a blue Jenny Packham skirt. The Duchess of Cambridge accentuated her barely there baby bump with a wide belt tied at the top of the peplum top.

Kate’s style was called “non-maternity” by Us Weekly, perhaps because she pushes the boundaries, and does not let her growing tummy get in the way of her impeccable fashion taste. Naturally she has a stylist, but Kate has always been known to have fashion sense — even before she was Mrs. Prince William.

Kate arrived at the Queen’s Gallery just before 6:30 p.m., and was introduced by Place2Be Chief Executive Benita Refson. Kate enjoyed the night solo, mingling with guests while her husband, Prince William, hung back with Prince George.
Duchess Kate’s charity event included an award ceremony. Middleton presented the Child Champion Award to 11-year-old Bailey Dunne, from Highfield Community Primary School in Sunderland. According to News Australia, the award was to be presented to a student who overcame his or her own struggles with mental and emotional well-being, and helped others.
“The charity supports 90,000 children in 230 primary and secondary schools in England, Scotland and Wales – some of whom joined the Duchess at Kensington Palace,” reports Mail Online.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kate and William are expecting their second child in April. It is unknown whether the couple is expecting a prince or a princess, but they may not even know that information themselves. Kate is just about four months along, and so far there have not been too many major hints. There was a maybe-slip-up by a friend of the royal family, who mentioned that Queen Elizabeth is thrilled with the baby news, and loves the idea of having a grandson and a granddaughter. Many thought that was a leak of some sort, and that Kate is expecting a baby girl.
