Florida Steaks LSD: Investigators ‘Clueless’ About How Steaks Were Tainted With LSD At Walmart

Florida steaks tainted with LSD have completely stumped investigators who have decided to close the case. According to the New York Daily News, the case was opened back in March after a family purchased steaks at a Tampa Walmart, and fell ill shortly after. Despite a grueling investigation, police have not been able to determine where the LSD came from, or how it got injected in to the beef.

“Ronnie Morales, his pregnant girlfriend Jessica Rosado and her two daughters Elyana, 7, and Rayna, 6, were rushed to St Joseph’s Hospital following the terrifying acid trip on March 3. Police promptly launched an investigation into the incident — which left Morales, 24, unable to walk or breathe properly,” reported the New York Daily News.

The Florida steaks containing LSD didn’t poison anyone else (no one else came forward with complaints anyway), making the situation a bit strange. Police seem to think that this was coincidental, however; that the Connecticut family who was visiting the area just happened to buy the steaks that had been tampered with, and maybe that really is the case. It is unknown if any employees at the store were interviewed, spoken to, or fired as a result of the investigation.

According to Fox News Latino, Tampa police spokesperson Andrea Davis said that the case was “still a mystery” and that it would “probably always remain a mystery.”

Detective Rachel Cholnik confirmed that the Morales/Rosado family has recovered from their illnesses, and that the case is being closed.

“All of the victims recovered completely and none are suffering any adverse effects from the LSD exposure. There is no further investigation at this time.”

The Florida steaks that had LSD in them could have been part of a prank of sorts. It’s possible that they could have been contaminated at a factory where they came from, but it’s odd that only a couple of pieces were touched.

A lot of people are frightened of food poisoning and food-borne illness. While it is unclear how LSD ends up in store-bought steak, there are other things out there (like salmonella) that can easily make people sick. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, a recent study showed that washing raw chicken can spread bacteria. The symptoms of food poisoning are different from the symptoms that the family in Florida had after they “ate” LSD.

“Symptoms of food poisoning include stomach pain, severe diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. These symptoms could start to appear two to five days after exposure,” the Inquisitr reports.
