‘Magic Mike’ Star Joe Manganiello Will Get Naked ‘As Much As Possible’ For XXL Sequel

Channing Tatum promises that Joe Manganiello will show a ton of more skin in the Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL then he ever did in the first film. Since Magic Mike hit the theaters, Joe Manganiello’s star has been on the rise. In addition to his role in Magic Mike, he also had an arc on True Blood, and his high profile relationship with Sofia Vergara doesn’t hurt either in terms of visibility in Hollywood.

That said, Manganiello’s role has expanded in the Magic Mike sequel, and fans of the star only have Channing Tatum to thank for that one. Speaking in an interview with Time, Tatum spoke about what fans can expect in the sequel that just wrapped.

“One of our first stops is at a drag club on our odyssey. We call it a stripper odyssey because it’s a traveling band of strippers. This movie is a lot more fun. In the first movie, we were obligated to show the underbelly — the pitfalls and dangers of being in that world. In this one, we kicked off a lot of the darkness. We’re going to have a lot of fun on the road together. Hopefully you’re going to care about these guys, and then get to see a lot of ridiculous nakedness and stupidity.”

He continued, “We got Joe Manganiello naked as much as possible. Everyone in the world: you’re welcome.”

Once the film wrapped cast and crew from Magic Mike XXL took to social media to show off some behind the scenes photos from the stripper sequel.

Magic Mike XXL will hit theaters on July 1, 2015.
