New Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt ‘By the Sea’ Malta Movie Caused Many Scuba Diving Cancellations

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were spotted over the weekend with husband Brad driving Angelina around Malta in a series of photos from the Daily Mail, wherein Jolie can be seen in the passenger seat of a classic automobile. The duo were filming scenes for their mysterious upcoming movie titled By the Sea, a drama penned by Angelina herself that is set in the 1970s and features Jolie and Pitt starring as a married couple who need to mix things up a bit in their marriage — so they take to the seaside town to turn their union around.

Turning things around is exactly what Angelina and Brad did when the shooting of the film caused scuba dives to be cancelled, reports the Times of Malta, and the article about the Jolie movie’s effect upon scuba diving excursions is replete with comments from folks debating the issue on both sides. Sure, some commentators claim, divers love their favorite diving spots — even scuba diving experts in the United States can vouch for that fact — yet others say that the positive effect and exposure that Angelina and Brad will bring to Malta is worth any worrisome cancelled dives.

Apparently the Pitt-Jolie brood is a big fan of scuba and snorkeling type of adventures, with having Brad donned a wetsuit when he and Angelina took their children to the Galapagos Islands, as chronicled by the Daily Mail back in 2012.

No matter what Angelina and Brad do, they will find themselves at the center of media attention, especially now that the 39-year-old Jolie and 50-year-old Pitt made it official, becoming “Mr. and Mrs.” in real life on August 23, 2014. As reported by the Inquisitr, even the special $250,000 typewriter that Angelina tried to buy Brad as a wedding gift made the news although the purchase was unsuccessful for Jolie in the end.

Despite it all, one wonders just how much attention — or lack thereof — that Malta will get when this Angelina Jolie project hits the theaters, reportedly in 2015. That’s because the IMDB description for the Jolie film reads as follows.

“Set in France during the mid-1970s, Vanessa, a former dancer, and her husband Roland, an American writer, travel the country together. They seem to be growing apart, but when they linger in one quiet, seaside town they begin to draw close to some of its more vibrant inhabitants, such as a local bar/café-keeper and a hotel owner.”

No matter what, plenty enough eyes will land on Angelina and Brad once more to see if this Jolie-penned drama has the chops to bring the Academy Award buzz for the duo.
