Katie Maloney and her boyfriend Tom Schwartz’s relationship will soon be a major storyline on Vanderpump Rules .
On the show’s first and second seasons, Schwartz’s role on the show was restricted to part time, but for Season 3, producers upgraded him to full time, which put a spotlight on their relationship. But while that may be fun for viewers to see, the drama could prove to be quite trying for the couple.
“There is going to be plenty of drama this season. Lots of rumors, lies and tears, but what else is new?” Maloney revealed in a November 11 interview with HNGN . “We all definitely keep them [producers] very up to date on the happenings in our lives. We really live our lives on camera, so keeping producers up to date with what’s going on in our personal lives is crucial to the process.”
In a second interview with Fashion & Style , Katie Maloney admitted to relationship struggles during Season 3.
“I don’t want to say too much but there are some pretty scandalous rumors that begin to surface surrounding Tom and myself so that really sends us on a bit of a rollercoaster. Our relationship was really, really tested this summer. I don’t know if I am getting more screen time this season but Tom and I and are storyline is at the forefront for sure.”
Maloney went on to explain to HNGN how she became involved in SUR Lounge and the show. “While I was pursuing my other ventures, I needed a job to help supplement my income,” she explained. “Then [SUR] came along. This was about five years ago, before RHOBH started, and when the opportunity for Vanderpump Rules came about we jumped on board.”
Although SUR comes with plenty of drama, Maloney, who the Inquisitr reported is one of Stassi Schroeder’s only friends at SUR, enjoys her time at the restaurant for the most part, and had only good things to say about her boss, Lisa Vanderpump. “Lisa has the biggest heart and you really sense her genuine concern for you. I had a rough summer and it was nice to have Lisa in my corner,” she said.
As for what Maloney would like fans to know about her that they haven’t seen on the show, she explained, “I am not a doormat. I am open-minded and go with the flow, but I sometimes feel that’s interpreted as being a puppet.”
