Jennifer Lopez Reacts To Being Single: ‘It’s Not Going To Be Forever’

Jennifer Lopez is as infamous for her music as she is for her relationships. And now having watched one “ex” in Ben Affleck walk down the aisle into a successful marriage, the American Idol star is about to watch another do the same with ex-husband Marc Anthony – who is engaged to model Shannon De Lima.

So how does Jenny from the Block feel about Marc’s engagement? According to US Weekly, Lopez actually feels fine:

I’m happy for him. I am totally single. It’s not going to be forever. Someone great will come along.”

She also details the intricacies of her marriage to Anthony in her new book, True Love, where she admits “things between Marc and me weren’t perfect. Our marriage was never the kind to glide along peacefully. From the beginning it was tumultuous, passionate and explosive.”

In Jennifer’s opinion, it was that kind of explosiveness that eventually drove them apart. She also blames her huge entourage around her as to why other previous relationships seemed to have failed – including the one with the aforementioned Affleck who is currently married to actress Jennifer Garner. As reported by Page Six, Lopez describes the difficulty having a large crew around all the time can pose for her man.

There’s a lot of people in my life and that’s hard. There’s people in the house. There’s hair and makeup. It’s a lot, I think, for someone to deal with.”

She adds, “Forget about all the outside stuff, being judged, being under scrutiny in the relationship.?.?. I guess that adds in.?.?. but I think they would say that [the entourage] was a big part of their discomfort, if there was any.”

Lopez also spends a significant amount of time discussing her relationship with Ben in her new book True Love, describing the break-up as having her “heart…torn out of my chest.” Apparently she doesn’t necessarily feel the same towards Anthony as her quotes would indicate.

Still, it must hurt to see the 45-year-old Anthony jump back into marriage so quickly. As reported by Inquistr, Lopez admits life wasn’t that good with Anthony despite the fact they have two kids together — twins Max and Emme who are 6-years-old. And to top it off, Anthony and his new fiance De Lima became engaged before the divorce papers from Lopez had even been signed.

JLo and Marc Anthony were married from 2004 until June of this year, when the divorce became official. The couple had been separated for more than two years prior.
