Jessa Duggar Confronts Church Sex Rumors In The Most Christian Way

It seems as though Jessa Duggar Seewald responded to the steamy scandal that she and husband Ben actually consummated their marriage in the church through her Instagram account today.

The rumors got started in the least credible way – through a comment left by someone calling herself Mary B. on a Christian blog website called “My Life As A Stay At Home Wife And Mother.” The author of the blog claims to have been at the Duggar – Seewald wedding, and Mary B. also claims to have been at the wedding… and further claimed that she saw a lot more than anyone else presumably did.

“Multiple people were discussing that when Jinger opened the door to get Jess for the reception, she immediately closed the door with a look of shock on her face,” wrote Mary B. in the blog’s comment section. “I am not sure why they would not wait for the evening to pray and then consummate God’s marriage. The Lord has blessed them and brought them together. To hear so many people discussing what they inadvertently walked into was heartbreaking and troubling … I believe Jessa and Ben are in deep lust with each other.”

The comment has since been removed, but, of course, the Duggars being who the Duggars are — one of the most recognizable families and very much in the public eye — the rumors took off.

Jessa Duggar Seewald, though, proves herself to be a class act, and in regards to all the steamy rumors surrounding her and her new husband, posted some Biblical verses to her Instagram account. The verses, from the Book of Romans, were well-chosen and clearly confront the issues at hand.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: ‘It is mine to avenge; I will repay,’ says the Lord. On the contrary: ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

It’s as good as a comeback gets, really. Without having to lower herself and saying, “No, I did not have sex with my husband at the church,” or feed the rumors by simply saying, “It’s no one’s business what I did with my husband, or where I happened to do it at,” she makes it clear that whatever she did — or did not — do, she considers honorable in the eyes of anyone.

If Mary B. ever decided to show up at the Duggar doorstep, she’d almost surely be invited in and treated nicely, for, as Jessa pointed out, killing with kindness is sometimes the best way of all.

But Jessa really did post a very surprisingly sexy picture of an intimate kiss with her new husband, causing some eyebrows to raise! For more on that, click here.
