Rachel Bilson Gives Birth To Daughter

Rachel Bilson has given birth to a daughter. Bilson and her partner, Hayden Christensen, welcomed daughter Briar Rose earlier today.

According to Us Weekly, which confirmed the news with multiple sources, the two picked Briar’s name from the 1959 original Sleeping Beauty, which is the new identity given to Princess Aurora by the three fairies, in hopes that they can shield her away from the evil Maleficent.

Before it was a Disney film, the story was originally a Grimm Brothers fairy tale written in 1812.

Back in May, the Inquisitr reported on the news that Bilson was expecting a child with longtime boyfriend Hayden Christensen. At the time, sources told US Weekly about the couple, who met on the 2008 bomb Jumper.

“They’ve both talked about this for awhile and are so excited. Everyone is beyond thrilled for them.”

This was something that has been on Bilson’s mind for some time. Back in 2013, Rachel was interviewed by Cosmopolitan and opened up about wanting to have children.

“I definitely have family on the brain. Having kids is something I want to see in my future — I hope.”

Earlier, the Inquisitr reported photos that were released of the star out and about right before she gave birth. A week weeks ago, Bilson and Christensen were spotted making a Lowe’s Home Improvement run in Los Angeles. The couple were seen leaving with a new electric washer, which is probably something they’re going to use a ton with new baby onesies.

Back in August, Rachel and Hayden were spotted on a babymoon in Ventura, California. Apparently, babymoons are vacations that couples take before the arrival of the baby. Our guess is it’s the one last hoorah before those sleepless nights start to kick in. The trend seemed to start in Hollywood.

Hayden and Rachel were fond of the whole babymoon thing and took not one but two babymoons. Their first was in Barbados which lasted for a whole month.

Safe to say the “babymoon” is over! Congratulations to Hayden Christen and Rachel Bilson on the arrival of their little daughter, Briar Rose.
