NeNe Leakes’ Real Housewives of Atlanta co-stars recently embarked on an exciting cast trip to the Philippines. Unfortunately, Leakes was unable to join them.
According to a new report, Leakes was forced to remain in the U.S., while her co-stars enjoyed a vacation abroad, likely paid for by Bravo. Her reason? Blood clots had formed around the reality star’s lungs.
NeNe Leakes “just canceled a flight to the Philippines for a RHOA shoot because of her recurring problem with blood clots that form around her lungs… the same condition that landed her in the hospital last November,” TMZ reported on October 30. “Flying long distances is potentially fatal for people with a propensity to develop blood clots… and the 20-hour flight from Atlanta to the Philippines was just too risky.”
On Thursday, NeNe Leakes took to Twitter, where she seemed to express her excitement over her time with Bravo coming to an end. “Thanks 2 my girls 4 holdin me down during the storm,” Leakes wrote , listing several friends. “Love u. It’s almost over.”
This isn’t the first time Leakes has appeared to be speaking of the end of her time on The Real Housewives of Atlanta . As the Inquisitr reported earlier this week, Leakes recently tweeted several messages seemingly hinting at her decision to move on from the series.
“Growth is a beautiful thing! Know when to get off a sinking ship,” read one of Leakes’ tweets. Another said, “I woke up this morning with so much peace I almost started shouting! God is real.” She also told her fans, “Don’t let your past determine your future!”
Although NeNe Leakes doesn’t seem positive about the show at this point, she keeps returning and recently explained why . “Over the years, I feel I have grown for the best,” Leakes said of her experiences on the show , according to the Inquisitr . “I have grown as an adult. I am older and wiser. I know so much more now that I didn’t know when I came into this world. I feel I have gotten better. I feel my life has changed for the better.”
Leakes also addressed her recent feud with Cynthia Bailey. “I think people misunderstand,” Leakes said of the situation. “I don’t go out a lot. I am very private. I am really chill. I understand why the girls on the show are made to come after me. I am the original.”
Although NeNe Leakes missed the trip, TMZ confirmed she is still part of the Real Housewives of Atlanta season seven cast.
