New Orleans Saints CB Tracy Porter Taken To Hospital After Neck Injury

New Orleans Saints cornerback Tracy Porter was taken to the hospital on Sunday after suffering a neck injury, officials says his transport to the hospital was completed as part of a mandatory observation precaution.

The injury was sustained when Porter was breaking up the second play from scrimmage during his teams game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Porter remained laying face down on the field for several seconds after sustaining a low hit from receiver Mike Williams, eventually he was carted off the field by team doctors while giving the thumbs-up to fans. In good news for Porter he was able to briefly move both of his legs before trainers held him still and carefully turned him onto his back while removing his face mask.

Williams also appeared to hurt his left leg during the collision but later returned to the game.

Also removed from play for the Buccaneers on Sunday was defensive tackle Gerald McCoy who sustained an arm injury later in the game. McCoy had missed his teams previous two games with an ankle injury.

At this time details about McCoy’s condition have not been revealed by team officials and more information about Tracy Porter’s injury are expected to be revealed after doctors have had more time to observe his injury.
