11-Year-Old Girl Blogged About Grandfather’s Death Threats Hours Before He Killed Her

Police believe that Honorario Yango murdered his daughter and granddaughter by shooting them shortly before killing himself on Monday in a murder-suicide, according to the Daily Mail.

The 78-year-old grandfather apparently lived with his daughter, 39-year-old Christine Dela Isla, and granddaughter, 11-year-old Anahlia Cowherd.

According to the report, local police found the bodies in their home around 8:15 p.m. after the 10-year-old grandson of the suspected shooter called 911.

Even though police still have not released an established motive for this murder-suicide, 11-yea-old Anahlia revealed quite a few details about the events leading up to her tragic death in her personal blog.

The Daily Mail reports that the personal blog on WattPad was discovered by her distant father, Terrell Cowherd, “in the aftermath of the murder-suicide.”

On the same day of her murder, Anahlia “wrote a frantic post” titled “Help…Me,” which stated that her grandfather was threatening to kill her.

“He threatened me… He actually threatened to KILL my family. Right now I’m in my mom’s room, the door locked, my dog close, my brother here, my Grandpa somewhere, my Grandma is not home. My mom is coming…I’m so scared.”

The “Help…Me” post was not the only post found on 11-year-old Anahlia’s blog by her father. According to the report, Cowherd discovered that Anahlia had “been writing for months” in her blog. The fifth grade student also claimed in her blog that her grandfather “had been molesting her since she was in the third grade.”

In an interview with KIRO TV, Cowherd stated that he first discovered his daughter’s personal blog on Tuesday morning just by searching for her name on Google.

“When I Googled my daughter’s name, the blog popped up. The only conclusion I can come to is that she must have actually got to the point where she was about to call police, and I guess that was his way of preventing her from doing so.”

Further reports show that, in one particular post, Anahlia identified herself along with a message stating that she “was gonna bring justice” to other girls that had been sexually abused.

“I’m Anahlia Chandris Cowherd, 11 years old, in 5th grade, and I’m gonna bring justice to all girls who have been touched.”

Anahlia’s 10-year old brother “was the only witness and survivor of the murder-suicide,” according to the Daily Mail.

KIRO TV reported on Tuesday that Anahlia’s grandfather, Honorario Yango, had no criminal history.

Anahlia Cowherd was a fifth grade student at Aki Kurose Middle School. Mia Williams, the school principal, sent a letter out to members of the local community in reference to the tragic death of one of their students.

“It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share the tragic news that one of our students was killed yesterday night. The student’s mother and grandfather are also dead in the incident. Her younger brother was in the house but managed to escape and call 911. As a community, I know we will come together to not only support the surviving family members, but work to ensure our larger community is a safe place for us to live, learn and work.”

The letter also stated that counselors were available at the school for those that needed their assistance as well as “some suggestions for how to help students cope.”
