‘Jem And The Holograms’ Gets A Release Date, Will Hit Theaters In 2015!

Jem and the Holograms finally has a release date. The film, based on the hit 80s cult classic television show, has been in production since 2010 but stalled a few times before coming together with a cast and filming schedule.

Now that Jon Chu’s Jem and the Holograms is wrapped up, we have a release date for when fans of the cartoon series can see the live action version of the 80s classic. According to CNN, the live action film is set to hit theaters on October 23, 2015.

The film will follow Jem’s all-girl rock band to introduce a whole new generation to the fun tunes and hijinks.

We haven’t heard much about Jem and the Holograms film. The last report out of The Inquisitr came with plenty of scoop back in April. A script written by Ryan Landels follows Jem who uses “revolutionary tech” in order to take on the identity of a rockstar. Sounds like the film won’t be too different from the television’s plot.

In the title role of Jem is actress Aubrey Peeples, who’s on the show Nashville and the TV movie Sharknardo before scoring the coveted role.

For all the 30-something adults that are ready to relive their 80s childhood, you will have a lot of icons from the 80s to embrace. Although it is unknown what capacity they’re in the film, both Molly Ringwald and Juliette Lewis will be part of the exciting live action film.

Molly Ringwald was very excited to tweet a photo with Juliette Lewis when the two were filming back in May.

As expected, fans were totally pumped to see these two hanging out together.

As of right now we don’t know who will play Jem’s nemeses, The Stingers or The Misfits, but we do know that both Juliette Lewis and Molly Ringwald are women who know how to rock out. We can’t imagine production hiring them without getting them to sing a song or two.
