Phaedra Parks has seen her divorce from husband Apollo Nida turn ugly after she was accused of having an affair with a rich African businessman, but the truth about her secret friendship might be a lot more simple.
Sources said that the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was caught texting a person nicknamed “Chocolate,” which many assumed to be a rich African businessman who had reportedly purchased her some expensive gifts.
But the celebrity gossip site MediaTakeOut did some research and found that “Chocolate” is not a new love interest for Phaedra Parks — and not even a man at all.
The site reported.
“You see, the person under the name “CHOCOLATE” in Phaedra’s phone is her BEST FRIEND Monique Williams – better known as former exotic dancer “Whyte Chocolate”. You see Whyte Chocolate was Phaedra’s MAID OF HONOR at her wedding… they’ve been friends for years. Whyte Chocolate was one a LEGENDARY Atlanta skripper and she’s best known for being the girl in Nelly’s TIP DRILL video – who got her booty SWIPED by Nelly’s Black Card.”
Phaedra had been largely quiet about her divorce from Apollo Nida ever since he was sentenced to eight years behind bars for a fraud conviction, but the rumor mill has been running nearly non-stop. This week she finally addressed the reports, telling Ellen DeGeneres that she knew nothing of Apollo’s crimes and thought he was a changed man.
“Well, to be honest, he had been to prison,” Phaedra Parks said, adding, “But he was a changed person so the person I married, I thought he had changed.”
There were even reports that the bad blood between Parks and Nida could be turning physical . On the day he was supposed to report to prison, Apollo instead showed up at Phaedra’s house, with some sources saying he wanted to hurt her.
Many think this animosity is the reason Phaedra Parks waited to file for divorce until Apollo had reported to prison, where he cannot hurt her.
