The World’s Tallest Cow Is Taller Than Most Men

Just two hours outside the fast-paced city of Chicago, Illinois, is a farm that is home to the tallest cow in the world — Blosom. Standing 6 feet 4 inches tall, Blosom the cow is taller than Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose, according to CBS Local News.

Blosom’s owner, Patty Hanson, contacted the Guinness World Records after having constant remarks from veterinarians as well as the cow’s foot trimmer about the 2,000 pound cow. Blosom gives a whole new meaning to the phrase “Eat Mor Chickin!”

Hanson contacted a local vet at the Orangeville Animal Health Service to take official measurements of the cow. The vet had to actually stand on a ladder to get the proper measurements, Hanson told CBS Local News. Blosom is a 13-year-old Holstein Friesian cow and stands about eight inches taller than other Holstein Friesian cows.

Patty has had Blosom the cow since she was a small calf, fell in love with her, and decided to keep her as a pet. Blosom has been given the important job as the greeter at Patty Hanson’s farm in Memory Lane Crafting Retreat house, as reported by ABC News.

“When I put Blosom’s halter on, she knows it’s time to go to work greeting people, and one of the best things I love about this big cow is she makes people smile. But now when I get to tell them they are looking at the world’s tallest cow, I can’t wait to see their reaction.”

Patty admits to Independent News that her father used to poke fun at Blosom but, after a little time, he warmed up to her and Blosom the cow was treated as all the other beloved pets.

“Blosom is a bit like an overgrown dog. To people who have cows, they will get what I am saying, but I want other people to know she is special. I told my dad years ago that Blosom was destined for stardom, and with this record she has achieved that.”

Blosom the world’s tallest cow will be in the 2016 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. Patty also hopes that Blosom will have her own children’s book one day. After all, she already has her own Facebook page, so the sky is the limit. Milk it for all it’s worth, Blosom.
