Zach Galifianakis became an A-list movie star for his awkward comedic delivery and his short, pudgy shape—which scored him a major role in all three Hangover films. But Galifianakis has gone through a major change that might drastically change his involvement in the Hollywood film scene, or at least change the public perception of him.
According to WGN TV , Galifianakis recently lost an incredible amount of weight . Zach was interviewed by WGN’s Dean Richards about his sudden slim-down and how a famously fat film star can pull something like that off. According to Galifianakis, the only thing he did was start walking and cut out alcohol.
“Being light is fun,” said Galifiankis jokingly. “I can go up two flights of steps now, and only need my inhaler twice.”

Fortunately, Zach kept the grizzled beard that he’s also become famous for, so it won’t be too difficult to recognize the skinnier new Zach Galifianakis.
According to Us Magazine , Zach Galifianakis debuted his svelte new look at a screening of his new film Birdman Or the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance on closing night of the New York Film Festival this past Sunday. He stunned the crowd as he showed up on the carpet in a well-fitting suit with a trimmer beard and an even trimmer waist. The weight loss came as a shock because Galifianakis hasn’t been in the public spotlight much lately. When asked about his mysterious disappearance, Galifianakis made the following statement:
“Being a celebrity is s*** — it’s dumb, and I’m not interested in it,” Zach said. “I like to be an actor, and that’s it. The blurred lines are, I think, man-made. I think celebrity is a man-made thing; it’s not innate in us…I’d rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime.”
This response may seem even more surprising when you learn that Zach Galifianakis recently made the announcement that he wants to become a professional clown .
