Ashton Kutcher Ringless in “The State of Truth” Video

Ashton Kutcher isn’t happy with all of the lies present in the media. So the star of “Two and a Half Men” decided to make a video, sans wedding ring, asking the press to be more honest in its reporting.

Kutcher says in a video on Chime.in:

“I just wanted to open up a little dialogue on the state of honesty. The state of truth. The status of truth as it pertains to literature and media.”

Ok, I’m listening.

“Publishers had a limited amount of inventory, publishers held great scrutiny over what they would be willing to print. They were the gatekeepers of truth… If it seemed like something wasn’t the truth, they wouldn’t print it because their reputation was on the line.”

This is the same guy that just allegedly cheated on his wife, Demi Moore, with a 20 something girl in a San Diego hot tub. right?

Kutcher continues:

“I started thinking about that in relation to media and social media today, where the threshold to actually have literature printed and distributed, the cost threshold is zero dollars. Thereby there is no gatekeeper of truth.”

Is Ashton saying that the media treated him unfairly in regard to his alleged affair with Sara Leal? Does Ashton hold the media to a higher standard than he holds himself? Or is this little speech completely unrelated to his relationship with Demi Moore?

Do you agree with Ashton Kutcher’s message? Even if you don’t agree with the messenger?
