Is Kanye West The Next Bill Murray? Yeezy Crashes Bachelorette Party, Brings Champagne

Kanye West is apparently channeling Bill Murray.

The rapper decided to emulate Murray’s legendary party-crashing ways this week when he paid an unexpected visit to a bachelorette party in New Orleans. The group came across Kanye during a meal at Galatoire’s, so partygoer Jess Kingsbery decided to ask a waiter to send a bottle of wine over to Kanye.

But Kanye turned the tables and instead had the wait staff send a bottle of champagne to the bachelorette party.

“The waiter brought it over and said the champagne was compliments of Mr. West and his party,” Kingsbery told E! News. “It was so crazy, we could not get over it.”

But Kanye West wasn’t done there. He later joined the bachelorette party, chatting with the ladies and posing for pictures with them. The women even got a chance to ask about Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian.

“Married life is great,” Kingsbery said he told them.

While Kanye West may have made for a memorable party crash, he’s got a long way to go before he reaches Bill Murray’s status. The actor and comedian has become famous for dropping in on parties unannounced and even joining kickball games in Central Park.

Murray is notoriously hard to pin down in Hollywood but, apparently, he does respond at times when invited to random parties. Earlier this year the owner of an ice cream store in Los Angeles heard that Murray was in town filming a movie, so he decided to hold a “Bill Murray Ice Cream Social” and hope that the actor might show up.

“Long story short, the guest of honor made it to the party and the rest is history,” the store’s owner, Joe, told Gawker. “Like my dad always says, ‘You’ll never dance with the pretty girl unless you ask.'”

Like Kanye, Murray has a special affinity for bachelor parties. Murray also showed up to a man’s pre-wedding celebration, telling the groom to be (in a moment caught on tape):

“Don’t just sort of think in your ordinary mind, you think, ‘OK let’s plan a date, let’s make a party and get married. Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of, and if/when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK and you’re still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”

The bachelorette party graced by Kanye West may not have gotten an inspirational speech, but they did have quite a memorable experience. Kingsbery told E! News, “it was the best night of our lives.”
