Jill Duggar Makes Pregnancy Prediction, Derick Dillard Packs On The Pounds

Jill Duggar’s husband has a gut feeling about what their baby’s sex will be, and because pregnancy has made Derick Dillard’s gut much bigger, perhaps he’s right.

The 19 Kids & Counting stars are excitedly awaiting the arrival of baby Dilly, and they’re also patiently waiting to find out if they’re going to have a girl or a boy.

The parents-to-be are planning to announce the sex of their baby on TLC’s website on October 21, but Derick Dillard is pretty sure he already knows that their child will be a future curly-haired cutie just like Jill Duggar and her sisters.

“Right now, there’s a lot to make us think were having a girl, but were just guessing,” Derek said. However, Jill isn’t quite so sure.

“We got about a 50/50 chance,” she said, according to InTouch Weekly.

As far as which gender the parents want, they’re torn — Derick is rooting for a girl, but Jill is praying for a boy.

Jill Duggar is now more than 15 weeks into her pregnancy, and she’s glad that her morning sickness has subsided. Jill said that her first trimester pregnancy cravings consisted of mostly cold foods, including cold green beans with vinegar and salt. However, according to InTouch, Jill said that her cravings are much easier to satisfy now that her pregnancy is further along.

“My first trimester, everything cold so whether it was sour, sweet, whatever it had to be cold, but now in my second semester, almost anything.”

Derick Dillard is also using his wife’s expanding waistline as an excuse to stuff his face.

“We’re both gaining weight at a steadier pace,” he revealed.

In addition to finding it easier to eat, Jill Duggar is loving her second trimester because she’s “not super pregnant yet,” but soon she’ll be able to feel her baby moving.

The 19 Kids & Counting star has plenty of experience with babies; she’s been as much of a mother to her younger siblings as Michelle Duggar has. According to ABC News, she’s also a trained midwife who has assisted in dozens of births, so she knows what to expect during labor. Jill is planning on a home birth, and her due date is in March.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard showed that they’re ready to work together to be the best parents possible during a recent 19 Kids & Counting episode. Jim Bob came up with the bizarre idea to have a real-life police officer handcuff the couple together (is that even legal?) so they could learn to work as a team. The Duggar patriarch then forced them to compete against a handcuffed Jessa Duggar and her future husband, Ben Seewald, in an obstacle course race (the couple isn’t even married yet, and they’re already using handcuffs — how very Fifty Shades of Grey). Jill and Derick won the obstacle course race, but hopefully Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald got to keep their cuffs as a kinky consolation prize.

Do you think Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard will make great parents now that they’ve passed Jim Bob’s torturous test?
